"error calling protect () method on socket"

I have a windows 7 virtual machine with OPENVPN that ive been using for years without issue on my home internet. I attempting to connect OpenVPN using my cellphone as a data hotspot and get this error: "error calling protect () method on socket".

Some said to change the APN to IPV4 for the cell settings (didnt work).

I also went to a local library and connected to their wifi to see if OPENVPN would work then, same error. Which causes even more confusion. My home wifi however works fine and OPENVPN connects without issue.

Any idea whats going on or how to fix this?

    Hello,

Usually the Connect App client logs contain more information on what could be the underlying problem.

But, without having much context, can you try going in to the Connect Apps advanced settings and set "Block IPv6".

Also, what connect app version are you using?

The Connect App is not supported on Win 7 for some time now.

    With Regards,
    Joseph
