Default routing to provider

Colleagues, please tell me.

How to correctly configure the OpenVPN server configuration so that the client in OpenVPN routes only those networks that are selected by the administrator of server, and the default routing is still configured into the main provider?

I am pretty sure the main points are

(1) push your desired routes from the server configuration file - e.g. push "route n.n.n.0 255.255.255.0"
(2) push any desired dhcp-options from the server configuration file - e.g. push "dhcp-option DNS n.n.n.n"
(3) DO NOT push "redirect-gateway def1 ...."

Number (3) above is the command that would tell the client to send ALL traffic through the VPN
