Hello Forum,
Till now i connected two Win10prof Pcs in different locations via OpenVPN Clients on both sides Version using preshared key.
Working fine. But days ago i did read this Version of VPN is not best and will be replaced soon and not working anymore.
Quesions:
- What is the difference between the "old System" and the newer Versions?
- Is a VPN Server needed, what advantage does it have instead such a PC to PC setup?
- A VPN Server needs to run all time then, is it possible to let it run on a raspberry pi 3b where pi hole is installed in one net?
- Does a Fritzbox 7490 contain a VPN Server that i could use using OpenVPN clients?
- Do i need one VPN Server on one side only?
- Is there a possibility to configure a similar setup as i had without a VPN Server?
- Is there any Link to a Description how to setup a state of the Art Solution for my Problem?
- When do i need Certificates and what is the process with them and how are these distributet (by the vpn Server, too?)
Thanks a lot for help.
Bernd
