Connection Failed with Error message: Peer certificate verification failure

    Hello,

Since few days, OpenVPN connect on Android is throwing an error. It says:

    Connection Failed

There was an error attempting to connect to the selected server.

Error message: Peer certificate verification failure

Nothing changed on the server side and the OpenVPN Connect app on Android is up-to-date.

I did some researches about the error message it returns that it could be caused if the certificate is
    expired

OpenVPN connect for iOS and Windows also suffer from the same error message.

How to know the real cause of the issue and how to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Guillaume

I have the same problem, but don't yet have time to investigate. However I did find this post https://forums.openvpn.net/viewtopic...32568&start=20

FWIW I run my OpenVPN server on my router and my security certificate (.crt) file had expired. Hope this helps.

          Hello,

          Sorry for the lateness.

Creating a new certificate and regenerating a new client configuration file fixes the issue for me.

Hope I could help other with the same issue.

          Guillaume
