Issue with DNS Resolution and Default Domain on OPNsense with OpenVPN Connect

I'm having a DNS issue with OPNsense when using OpenVPN Connect. If a default domain is set in OPNsense, after connecting, only the local DNS is used, and the configured DNS server (its IP is set under OpenVPN in OPNsense) is ignored. This wasn’t an issue with OpenVPN Community Edition, where everything worked as expected.
How can I keep the default domain but ensure the configured DNS server is still used with OpenVPN Connect?
